We live in a world where travel has played a very important role. The majority of us travel for pleasure, stress relief, and the general mirth of seeing and experiencing something new. Travel gives us new perspectives and changes the way we look at the world. It allows to look beyond the ordinary and forge friendships that could last a lifetime.

One such person who was bitten by the travel bug in his teens, is Saurav — a digital nomad, entrepreneur and experience giver. Saurav has been an avid traveler all his life, trying to score up to a hundred countries up to his thirties. Saurav’s ambitions also lie in spreading awareness about the various cultures across the world and sharing experiences with everyone around him. Over the last many months, Saurav has been wanting to spread this awareness globally. Hence he started “The Cultural Immersion Program”, which aims at having social gatherings where he talks about various traditions and cultures across the world. What started off as a physical gathering filled with merriment and mirth, turned into a digital one, once the shadows of COVID came into the world.

A particular country would be chosen, and the culture, food, language, and entertainment in the country would be looked into, not to mention tips for living and accommodation as well as how to get your visa and enter the country without any hassles or confusion. Each digital immersion would allow us to meet connoisseurs in the areas of art, culture, food, and language, in the country chosen for the week. The success of Saurav’s venture is definitely the fact that it is now on a digital platform, hence allowing people all over the world to participate. This makes it an extremely inclusive, yet diverse experience.

Here are some photos from the recent Irish Immersion conducted on the 18th of July 2020. The Immersion started off with a fun “truth or lie” game which acted as an ice breaker.

We then moved onto to interacting with Rita, an Indian woman who moved to Ireland after her marriage. She told us about how she adjusted to the new land, which had a lot of positive and friendly folks, always willing to lend a hand.

We then moved on to meet a harpist from Ireland who bowled us over with her beautiful renditions on the harp.

A vegan food blogger from Ireland was next on the list, who gave us tips on veganism and Irish food.

Saurav’s very own acquaintance from Ireland came after, who gave us an insight on how to reach Ireland, live in Ireland, and enjoy the experience that the country offers from a tourist's perspective.

All in all the immersion was informative, engaging and a delight to be a part of!

Saurav’s Immersion Program has brought together many people around the world during the times of COVID and allowed them to share stories and interact while staying indoors. The program truly brings the immersion experience right to you! These immersions happen on a bimonthly basis and are filled with laughter and learning. This is an experience which should not be missed! Hoping to see you all at the next immersion!
